Payment Due Dates for Real Estate Tax

First Half:    February 14, 2020
Second Half:   July 10, 2020

Penalty & Interest Dates:

Feb. 14, 2020 Last day to pay 1st half taxes without penalty
Feb. 15, 2020 5% of the unpaid 1st half taxes will be added as penalty
Feb.25, 2020 10% of the unpaid 1st half taxes will be added as penalty
July 10, 2020 Last day to pay 2nd half taxes without penalty
July 11, 2020 5% of the total unpaid 2011 tax will be added as penalty
July 21, 2020 10% of the total unpaid 2011 tax bill will be added as penalty
Aug. 1, 2020 3.33% of the unpaid prior years’ delinquency will be added as interest
Dec. 1, 2020 1.67% of the total unpaid balance will be added as interest

For your convenience, we have a drop box at the side of our building by the parking lot for payments

Mail Payments or Pay On Line

Please mail your payments early!  Closing date postmarks will be accepted but it is your responsibility to make sure that your payment has an acceptable postmark.

Please Examine Your Bills:

Please return bills wrongfully sent and provide us with correct names and addresses.  Failure to receive a bill does not excuse failure or delay in payment of your taxes.

Delinquent Payment Plan:

We are able to offer plans to help with the payment of your delinquent taxes.  If you wish  to discuss these options, please contact our office.

Senior Citizens:

Applications for this exemption can be obtained from the County Auditor’s or Treasurer’s Office. You may qualify for the Homestead Exemption if:

  1. You are 65 or older or are permanently disabled plus your 2019 Ohio adjusted gross income must be $33,600.00 or less for real estate tax year 2019 and for manufactured home tax year 2020.
  2. You are a surviving spouse between 59 and 64 whose property was already receiving the exemption.
  3. You own and live in the residence receiving the exemption.
  4. Make application for exemption by the 1st Monday in June with the County Auditor.

Valuation Complaints:

According to the Ohio Revised Code Section 323.13, complaints must be filed by 4:00 P.M. on March 31st  with the County Auditor. Postmark is not sufficient for filling.

If the amount of the tax bill is not paid, or, if mailed, is not postmarked with Post Office cancellation on or before the due date, a penalty and possible interest will be added to the amount due pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 323.123
 
The Treasurer’s Office makes every effort to mail all tax bills to the party responsible for payment.  It is the obligation of the taxpayer to obtain the property bill(s) if not received in the mail.  Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse your failure to pay, nor does it relieve a taxpayer of the mandatory penalty and/or interest imposed by law.
Please notify the Treasurer’s Office of any change in mailing address.
There is a space provided for this purpose on your return envelope.  We require all address changes in writing according to ORC 323.13.
Remember to read the important information on the reverse side of your tax bill.
Delinquent Payment Plans are available.  Your delinquent balance can be paid off in installments while keeping your current tax paid.  Please contact our office for additional information.
