June 11, 2025 - Logan, Ohio - The Hocking County Board of Commissioners are pleased to
announce a special ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Hocking County Courthouse.
The re-dedication event will take place on June 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the
courthouse grounds in downtown Logan.
Originally dedicated in 1925, the Hocking County Courthouse has served as the center of county
government and a symbol of justice for a full century. To honor this milestone, the Board of
Commissioners has organized a commemorative event featuring a formal re-dedication
ceremony.
The program will include:
- Remarks from the Hocking County Board of Commissioners
- A ceremonial ribbon cutting
- The presentation of a new courthouse clock
- The unveiling of a new dedication plaque
- Public tours of the courthouse following the ceremony
“This courthouse has stood for 100 years as a symbol of service to the people of Hocking
County," said Commission President Jason D’Onofrio. "As we mark this centennial, we honor
not only the historic structure itself, but the generations of public servants, citizens, and
community leaders who have walked these halls and carried out the business of the county with
integrity and dedication."
The public is invited and encouraged to attend the event, tour the courthouse, and celebrate this
important chapter in Hocking County’s history.
